Celebrating the eagerly awaited re-opening of the Topman Topshop store in Liverpool next month, we've got an exciting challenge which is sure to test your artistic talents to the limit!
How would you like to come up with a design and decorate one of the walls in the new Topman Topshop Liverpool store which re-opens on September 18th.
We're on the hunt to find a local artist to design the wall using paint, grafitti or whatever through the main central staircase area on every floor. The wall is approx 3m wide by a whopping 14m tall so get your thinking caps on.
Deadline for entries is 3 September 2009
The winner will be picked by Tim Whitmore and Paul Drummond, creative directors of Topshop and Topman respectively.
THE ALL IMPORTANT QUESTION - WHAT DO I WIN?
Thought you might ask. Well, how about £200 to spend in the newly designed store for starters. We will cover all materials so the sky is the limit. The big prize however is seeing your design 14 metres high in THE biggest Topman Topshop store outside of London. Try fitting that in your portfolio! The winner will be interviewed by local press as well as have their winning design seen by thousands of Topman and Topshop shoppers.
There are keywords entrants should use as their inspiration for the design of the Topshop section that need to be included in the design: Fashion, Youth, Colourful, Stylish and Avant Garde.
For Topman, the inspiration words are Authoritative, Edgy, Surprising, Inspiring, Vivid and Sub-Culture.
The winner will preferably have their own team of helpers, who will have five days to complete the wall – but the store can provide an extra two people to help with painting if necessary.
The wall will need to be done between September 10 – 15, so the closing date for entries is Thursday, September 3 2009.
Entrants need to submit their design ideas to Gemma Boner at Topman by post, either on disk or on paper to: Colegrave House, 70 Berners Street, London, W1T 3NL.
Entries should be marked “Liverpool design competition”.
