Possibly the world's most infamous skate team Supra headed over this side of the pond last week for their UK tour. Stopping off in Edinburgh, Manchester and London was the likes of Chad Muska, Tom Penny and Terry Kennedy. Skating through wind and rain the guys put on a excellent show for local fans. We've been a fan of The 1234 Shoreditch festival since the beginning, it gets bigger and better each year and this year is no exception. 2011 sees the likes of Black Lips, The King Blues, The Lovely Jonjo and many more hit the East London Shoreditch Park stage on Saturday the 9th of July, 2011.

Last night we attended the opening of Whisper Gallery the smaller sibling of Scream Gallery, whom exhibit in the Topman Oxford Circus Personal Shopping space. On show was artwork from a range of young and emerging artists both British and international, with creativity coming from various angles which is your favourite piece?

Film4 Summer Screen returns to Somerset House, London this July for the open-air cinema series. Lasting for 12 days from the 27th July the screenings range across the board from UK premieres to cult action thrillers.

CREEP
So Jamie of The XX has been flying solo in the dance music realm but it seems band member and vocalist Romy has been getting cosy with a duo that’s been making serious waves, and they are CREEP. Don’t deny you’re a little confused with the terms future-garage and post-dubstep; we all are. Well, here’s another one for the collection: witch-house. Focus your attention on two young talented producers from New York City who is bringing some dark-pop to the table. This Brooklyn-based twosome has been heading the charge in electronic music since they released their debut single, Days, and what a track to usher us in to their woozy atmospheric world, with guest vocals from Romy Madley-Croft.
Not only have they carved out their own signature sound, but they have supported for the likes of James Blake and the sublime outfit, Mount Kimbie. On 6th August CREEP will be performing live at Field Day held in Victoria Park, sister festival to Underage and one of London’s most diverse one-day events, straddling the entire musical spectrum. They join a brimming roster of artists spanning indie, folk, electronica and all the in-between
SBTRKT
UK Bass Culture has seeped its way into every facet of musical creation of late, with more people using the template of punchy drum beats and thick layers of bass to construct a whole world of sound. SBTRKT – one of Data Transmission’s favourite new producers - is one of those talents who has carved out his niche within the UK underground scene, with a blend of heartfelt songwriting, penetrating vocals, pop synths – and of course, whipping snares and bowel shaking basslines. A cross between – put simply - the sub bass of Pinch and the electro tinged pop sensibilities of Metronomy, SBTRKT perform as a two man live show. In the view of the dim lighted stage, these modern-day masked troubadours will stun you with their sound, keep you firmly entertained with a broad range of influences and rumble the earth when they play at Field Day Festival live. They’re also playing a rather cushy DJ set at Reading & Leeds’ dance stage, so expect fun fuelled and high octane sounds throughout the night.
ODD FUTURE WOLF GANG KILL THEM ALL
Hands up who likes their hip hop hard and edgy? Odd Future are a ten man strong collective of vocalists, beat-makers, rappers and general scallies from the city of angels – and they’re all ranging from their late teens to late twenties. Their beats and bars are soaked in a delivery that’s raw and tough, with cutting, defining stories and tales that would make even Eminem gasp, these guys are breaking the mould with a tight focus on roughly produced, banging beats and lyrically innovative production; guaranteed to cause a massive fuss when they play Reading & Leeds Festival this year, judging from their antics at London’s village underground and Camden Crawl – the notoriety will just get bigger.
Tyler, the characteristic frontman, has also just released his next album on XL Recordings and before him, Earl Sweatshirt, Hodgy Beats and more released the first Odd Future album – and their own solo efforts. Tough edged, challenging sounds from a ground breaking alternative hip-hop crew that daren’t be missed.

CRYSTAL FIGHTERS
Hailing from the Northern territories of Spain, girl / boy duo Crystal Fighters are an entity to themselves. They’ve been circulating the London circuit in particular for some time; blending Spanish flamenco guitar with lo-fi synth waves and rumbling bass and chanting hypnotic vocals. A sort of more playful Gang Gang Dance, crossed with the weird electronica of, their energetic lives shows are also a sight to behold, full of energy sassiness and swagger. Head down to the underage Festival for a slice – if you’re too old, then make sure you head to Reading & Leeds and catch them there. You won’t be disappointed by this invigorating and modern twist on the intimate two man band set up with their sparky sounds, eclectic fusion and bright eyed presence. It’s going to be a BIG party – and we’re all invited.
