Vintage Festival: Press Preview...

We popped along to the preview of Vintage Festival at the Southbank Centre this morning - introduced by festival curator and the brains behind the operation - Mr Wayne Hemmingway. After a brief introduction by Mr Hemmingway, we were invited to take a look around the transformed Southbank Centre, take a look at what we found...

We'll be back their tonight to check out the music, food, vintage clothes and more - plus we'll be on the look out for the most stylish vintage lovers in the building! Are you coming along? If not, what are your plans for the weekend? Whatever you're up to, lets just hope it stays sunny...!

Christmas Press Preview

At the end of last week we were informed a Christmas press event was taking place in Topman Towers. We decided to sneak in and get some photos of the apparel arriving this Winter. Included were a variety of garments from Xmas knits to tailored jackets, all welcoming you in to the upcoming festive season!

Xbox Competition Winner Gaming Night

Last night we headed for the Personal Shopping space in our Oxford Circus store, where we had our ultimate gaming night take place for our Xbox competition winner. The winner of the competition was James Daly who best described why him and his friends are brothers to the end. Here is his entry:

'My friends Marcus, Joe and Mason are the best friends a guy could ever hope for. We have been through thick and thin together, never doubting one another. We've survived long journeys, going to separate universities, interfering girlfriend's, and so much more. They show exemplary character in many situations, always doing the right thing. We helped Marcus get a job when he was low on money. We consoled Joe when he lost someone special. We were there for Mason when a girl broke his heart, and they rescued me when I was stranded in another country. We will stand together until the end, no matter how bitter that may be. We are, and will always be, brothers in arms.'

With this excellent answer James won a £250 shopping spree, whilst him and his friends won the opportunity to play Gears of War 3 over a month before release and an Xbox each! Quite the prize.

Youth Club- Young Souls

We recently took a trip down to the Youth Club gallery, archiving some of the world's leading youth culture imagery - the exhibition revealed was Young Souls. Presented by Dean Chalkley, Young Souls takes a look into the current generation of young people getting into the Northern Soul scene and the passion that goes with it. A true experience of the culture can be seen below...

Xbox Gaming Night with Jimmi Jagger & Tyrone Wood

Yesterday we headed down to the Personal Shopping suite, Oxford Circus where we had an Xbox gaming night take place. In attendance was Jimmi Jagger (Mick Jagger's son) and Tyrone Wood (Ronnie Wood's son) whom both brought along four mates. Then in teams they battled it out at the soon to be released Gears of War 3. Topman at Lovebox 2011...

What a weekend! The rain certainly didn't dampen the spirits at Victoria Park at the weekend; with artists like Example, Metronomy, Snoop Dogg, Fenech Soler & Beth Ditto warming the crowds it was easy to forget the puddles and mud beneath our feet. Despite the abundance of rain-macs and umbrellas, we made our way through the mud and into the crowd to take some style shots...check out Lovebox style below!

If you missed out on this year's fantastic Lovebox festival you'll need to get in quick next year - with the lack of a Glastonbury we suspect it'll sell out even quicker than this year! Were you there? Let us know who your favourite band / act was in the comments!

 

London Street Photography

Looking for something to do this week? Head down to the London Street Photography exhibition as it presents the evolution of life in London from the 19th century up until present day. With over 50 photographers work being shown you're sure to find some artwork that catches your eye!

Asahi Bar Event

Last night we took a trip down to the Personal Shopping suite in our Oxford Circus store, where we had an Asahi bar event taking place. The invite only event brought together London's swankiest bar managers in a way to help familiarise them with the Personal Shopping space. Catering for the night came from Werner a specialist sushi chef who produced some truly mouth watering appetizers which made for an outstanding night all round!
