Amazing blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers? I'm planning to start my own site soon but I'm a little lost on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I'm completely overwhelmed .. Any suggestions? Appreciate it!

I have taught the children the value of adding fairtrade to our shopping basket and now we replace any items we can with the fairtrade logo :) if we teach the children then the next generation will be better educated in the subject

I have watched a few documentaries about the issues that are resolved when Fairtrade is put in place, I have bought Fairtrade products such as chocolate, coffee and clothing, and I find it feels better buying these as I know they have been produced by a far more happier community elsewhere on earth.
I also went to Honduras last summer and the company Operation Wallecea who we went with, worked with local communities to produce Fairtrade products within a cloud forest area of the country, these products have been dispatched to the UK and will soon be hopefully sold in all major supermarkets.

I read last night about PureDKNY helping women get out of financial poverty by growing vanilla beans for DKNY to use in their products, so as soon as they do a man's PureDKNY, I intend to buy some.

It just makes sense to ensure people are not exploited for the sake of cheap goods and it is unethical to make profits at the cost of others suffering. So I will continue to support Fairtrade as I have done in the past.

I live in a rather urban area where the misconception persists that small, local farmers are solely present on the countryside and it would take you ages to ever reach them to buy a product there. That is wrong. I noticed an increasing number of small, local farmers in urban surroundings as well. Not only are their products way better than when you buy them at your supermarket around the corner, but surprisingly, they are sometimes even cheaper. This surprised me, and many others I've told about this. Therefore, my contribution to Fairtrade in 2012 will be to continue spreading the word about such innovative initiatives and raising awareness about local, ethical production.

I buy more Fairtrade all the time, particularly coffee, chocolate and wine. But the change I have made recently is when I write my shopping list to not just write the item, but add Fairtrade on my list against a couple of things that are importnat to me, as a reminder and motivator to select that one. Its easy to get swayed when in store and forget your motivations.

Well I went a bit mad with my steps and would call them more leaps and bounds! Firstly we had a cake sale raising money for oxfam but we used ALL fairtrade ingredients (some harder to find than others!) served with a choice of Clipper fairtrade tea, coffee or hot chocolate!
