Johnson Banks: Arkitypo – Letter Rotations

Johnson Banks, a London-based design studio, recently collaborated with the Digital Media University of Ravensbourne to create this pretty cool 'Arkitypo' conceptual video that was six months in the making. 

 

Now for the science bit - using the typeface selection as a starting point, the curators selected a specific typeface that began with the letter used for the art piece. Each letter was designed to represent the character graphically based on plenty of research and historical foundation. Typographers enjoy!

Cathedral of 55,000 LED Lights at Light Festival 2012

Constructed of wood, covered with 55,000 LED lights and reaching 28 meters (92 ft.) into the sky, the LED cathedral was the standout piece at this years Light Festival. Apple iPad 3 Leaked Details

Just as CES (Las Vegas) was winding down Bloomberg has had 3 people claiming they have intimate details about the Apple iPad 3. The rumours are:

• It went into production this month and is due to launch in March.
• It will have a quad-core CPU (as opposed to the dual-core A5 found in iPad 2).
• The new high def display has more pixels on its screen than some high-definition televisions.

If this is true the introduction of the new iPad will be Apple’s first major hardware release since the death of company co-founder Steve Jobs in October.
