2013 Pirelli Calendar Unveiled

It's that time of year again, the 2013 Pirelli calendar has been unveiled. As tradition goes these calendars normally like to show off a lot of skin, but this time round that isn't the case.

Taking a different approach this time round the calendar's models were chosen specifically for their extensive charity work, and it was thought that nudity might dilute this message. Check out a few of the 2013 photos below...

James Long x Topman Knitwear Illustrations by Mr Gammon

To celebrate the upcoming launch of the James Long for Topman collaboration we've teamed up with stylist and illustrator Mr Gammon, to produce some one off drawings of the knitwear collection. As an illustrator his traditional approach to drawing is to draw what he sees in front of him at any one time.

City of God - 10 Years Later

In 2002 the movie ‘City Of God’ was released to much acclaim, which both impressed and shocked the world at the same time. It tells the story of 2 friends growing up in the suburbian favelas of Rio de Janeiro/Brazil in ‘Cidade de Deus’ (translated City of God) and their separating paths when one becomes a photographer/journalist while the other becomes a drug dealer.

The most impressive thing about City of God was that almost all of the characters in the movie were not actors. They were all casted from the streets of Rio to keep the authenticity on film as strong as possible. As this was the case Cavi Borges and Luciano Vidigal have created a documentary entitled 'City of God - 10 Years Later' which catches up with the 'kids' portrayed in the cult classic as they discuss where their lives are today.

Dollar Bill Sculptures by Scott Campbell

A talented artist of many mediums including copper, paper and even skin, Brooklyn based New York artist Scott Campbell has brought his tattooing techniques to yet another type of canvas, Money! See some of his work below...

Campbell’s most striking money work is the Pièce de Résistance. Made from a stack of bills, enough to make a two foot cube of solid money. To get the above result he laser etched a 3D human skull into a stack of $11,000!

More Banksy? Or is it...

We thought we spotted another new Banksy earlier over on A New Hype, with the acclaimed street artist paying homage to the Ecce Homo Potato Jesus meme in one of his public artworks. 

Unfortunately this isn't the case as the image is a fake but still pretty funny though.
